A Personal Message from Luscious Genetics – Ceasing All Sales on June 26, 2026
Hey everyone,
After more than eight wonderful years, we’ve made the difficult decision to cease all seed and clone sales at Luscious Genetics effective Friday, June 26, 2026 at 12:00 PM CST.
We launched our first inventory on January 23, 2018 as a small family operation. What started as a passion project grew into something much bigger thanks to all of you. We’ve shipped genetics to thousands of growers around the world, followed your grows, and genuinely loved being part of this community. It’s been an honor.
Why We’re Closing
This decision is driven by federal regulatory changes under Section 781 of the FY2026 Agriculture Appropriations Act (Public Law 119-37), signed in November 2025.
Key points about Section 781:
- The original 2018 Farm Bill defined hemp as cannabis with no more than 0.3% delta-9 THC.
- Section 781 changes this to a total THC standard (including THCA and other cannabinoids) of 0.3% on a dry-weight basis.
- It explicitly excludes viable seeds from any Cannabis sativa L. plant that has the potential to produce more than 0.3% total THC once grown.
- This means virtually all current Luscious Genetics seeds (and most high-THC genetics on the market) would be considered marijuana instead of hemp after November 12, 2026.
- These changes take full effect on November 12, 2026.

Other Proposed Legislation
After Section 781 passed, several bills were introduced in response:
- American Hemp Protection Act (H.R. 6209) — Would fully repeal Section 781 and restore the original 2018 delta-9 THC definition. View bill
- Hemp Planting Predictability Act — Would delay implementation by 2–3 years. House version (H.R. 7024) Senate version (S. 3686)
- Cannabinoid Safety and Regulation Act (S. 3474) — Introduced by Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR). This bill would replace the ban with a comprehensive federal regulatory framework for hemp-derived cannabinoids (including THC limits per serving, testing, labeling, and age restrictions). View bill
While these bills have some bipartisan support, they remain stalled in committee with no hearings or votes scheduled. In this midterm election year, it does not appear that any meaningful relief will pass in time.
Broader Industry Impact Section 781 is expected to wipe out a large portion of the intoxicating hemp market (valued at roughly $28–30 billion), affecting CBD tinctures, topicals, edibles, vapes, and many other hemp-derived products. This is already causing widespread business closures, job losses, and banking/processor de-risking across the industry.
Final Sale Details
- All orders must be placed by 12:00 PM CST on Friday, June 26, 2026.
- We will continue shipping orders placed before the cutoff while inventory lasts.
- After June 26, the website will transition into a historical archive. All product pages will remain visible for educational purposes only. No purchasing will be possible.
We will continue developing the Trichome Bros genetics legacy on a strictly personal, non-commercial basis.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of this journey. You helped make Luscious Genetics what it was, and we will always appreciate the community we built together.
If you have any final orders, now is the time.
With sincere gratitude,
The Luscious Genetics Team
